If you are considering pinnaplasty surgery, your first consultation will be with Mr Fattah where you will have the opportunity to discuss your concerns and aims of surgery. Mr Fattah will ask a number of medical questions including current/past medical conditions and treatments, current medications, allergies, previous surgery and anaesthetic experiences and questions about your lifestyle. Mr Fattah will discuss with you whether surgery is an appropriate option to address your concerns and he will present you with a number of options so that you can decide what works best for you. Your consultation may involve examination and taking measurements of your ears and taking photographs for your clinical record. Mr Fattah will also discuss the outcomes of any proposed surgery including the risk and benefits and potential complications.
We understand that you may feel nervous attending your first consultation and this is very common. Please ensure you tell us if this is how you are feeling, and we will do our best to make the process as relaxing as possible.
You will receive a lot of information during your first consultation, often including written information for you to take home to read. You will have a second consultation after a two-week cooling off period, which is to ensure you have had adequate time to evaluate the information you have been given. The second consultation is also your opportunity to ask any questions you have, and if you choose to proceed with surgery, arrangements will be made. If you are not ready to schedule surgery, there is no pressure and you can return to see Mr Fattah for a further consultation whenever you feel ready.
